Yeeeah...it's up. Enjoy it.

Oh, and I have a NEW UPDATE SCHEDUAL:

Updating twice a week!

Mondays: New comics
Fridays: Extra Art

Think I can do it?

So all the Love Hina nerds such as myself probably noticed I put Naru in the lineup, in front of Russell. I find it really hard to draw anime characters, which is surprising because my style is very close to it. But I try to distance myself from anime as much as possible, because I dont' want to be one of the millions of north americans who rip it off. Unfortunately, that doesn't really work. I mean, when I registered on thewebcomiclist.com, I put my genre as "Other" because it didn't seem to fit with any of them you could select...and they went and changed it to "Manga" a few weeks later.

Ah, well.

Anyway the reason I don't like drawing anime characters is because they always have crazy hair. And I draw hair quite differently...I try to limit all the hairs sticking up in random directions. So I drew this Naru, and it didnt' really look like her because I didnt' add the two hairs she has sticking out of the top of her head. And it took me so long to do that because I didn't want her to look out of place...

Anyway I still think she looks kind of out of place, but whatever.

I wish I'd made the movie posters bigger, because you can't read the top of "Sex Appeal: The Movie." It says "Carmen Electra, Pam Anderson, Joan Rivers", just so you know. God damn, the funniest joke in the whole comic and nobody can read it!

Yeah...I finished this comic at 5:00 this morning. Isn't that insane? I had it half done and I started at around 12. Anyway, when it was all finished there was something wrong with keenspace and I coudln't update. So I had to update it when I got up...which was, only a few hours ago. Heh. My internal clock is fucked.

Oh, and thank you to Danica for this comic. Because I had an idea to do the whole "single frame of partial nudity" thing a while ago, but she meantioned fantastic four specifically...so it really made it a lot better.

Next week: Offensive Advertising Part Four. If you're sick of this, too bad! Because it's starring Stefan and he's due for a big comeback. I dont' put him in enouch comics...Why am I giving the sexiest character the least amount of appearances? I'm breaking the first webcomic law, here! Well, that's going to change... =)

At a slight tangent, someone (I think it was Wordplay, a scriptwriting site) gave an insightful explanation of why some movie trailers appear to have little to do with the actual film - as a rule of thumb, the people that make these trailers are convinced that the movie sucks, and they have to "save" it. Amping up the cleavage is one way to do this, in their advertising-oriented minds; but it's also how you get the "show all the good bits" trailers, like those for the Men In Black movies.

(From what I've heard, Fantastic Four could have done with a little saving, but that's slightly beside the point. ;)

Oh, and it's not always about more cleavage in movies - for example, Lindsay Lohan apparently had cleavage and some general jiggling removed in post-production for that recent Herbie movie, in order to make it more family-friendly. I suspect that this was an even more tedious job than it sounds.

I agree that the woman's expression in the last panel is excellent, by the way. :)

That's a good theory...that would explain why practically every movie trailer doesn't do a film justice. For example, I watched Fight Club a few weeks ago and I thought it was great, and I was going through the special features and I watched a trailer. Needless to say, it sucked. It didn't have a bunch sex thrown in it or anything(they didn't have much to work with in this movie's case), but after watching it I remembered why I didn't see it earlier. I remembered the trailer, and it made it look like a generic action film. At the time I was pretty young anyway, and probably wouldn't've wanted to see it when it first came out. But I didn't pay attention to movie reviews back then so by the time I was old enough to actually enjoy it I just had this stubborn idea that it will suck. Of course, I had so many people telling me to see it, so I read the book and loved it and then I was excited for the movie, but anyway. It's interesting how these things stick with you.

How exactly would you remove jiggling and cleavage in the post-production? That must've been tricky, haha. I feel sorry for the whoever had that job.

Yeah, I haven't actually seen those Fantastic Four trailers, Danica was just going on about how dumb it was so I took her word for it. ^_^ I'm glad you guys liked her expression.

One painstaking frame at a time. :) It's not as easy as removing blinking from a "corpse" or hiding hair that shouldn't be showing from under a cap, but all you have to do is spend the money to throw people and processors at the problem. I'm kind of curious how well they did -- not curious enough to spend money just to stare at Lindsay Lohan's chest for a couple of hours, but curious.
